On his latest single for Bristol label Four:Twenty, German producer Andomat 3000 gets buck wild with an unrestrained collision of surging techno rhythms and the same kind of dissonance that made early Nineties acid house such essential listening. The results here offer a fresh approach in a stale scene, combine that with a complementary roster of remixes from Solomun, Seulo, and newbie Ruthit and this EP has all the makings of summertime hit.

The original version of "Hit-Ze" is all clipped percussion, driving rhythms, and a quirky vocal snippet breakdown. Swirling white noise accents and some hot bongo action gives the track some serious dance floor appeal without being too ornate or overwrought. Here the elements of the track are laid out to keep it simple, stupid.

Hamburg's Mladen Solomun drops his first remix since debut LP, Dance Baby and delivers a wicked slice of electro funk that covets a booty shaking bass line above all else although Solomun does turn the original's white noise into a cacophony of crashing metal for a unique approach that nets some decent returns.

DJ Seulo returns with a remix to complement his recent Four:Twenty release that focuses entirely on silky smooth deep house and works itself in a heady state of delirium over the course of nine minutes, making it a summertime essential and the high point on already bulletproof release. Newcomer Ruthit focuses intently on the dissonance in the original's kernel creating a track that still retains a sense of deepness but isn't afraid to explore odd melodies and other non-musical elements to extract the proper groove. While not quite as solid as Seulo's approach, this remix comes damn close.

Closing the EP out on the dissonant trend, the closing track "Sigrun" is a dark hammer of gritty toughness that is hard to ignore but low-key enough to be found buried deep on the b-side. Overall, this is one of the better releases out right now for those looking to move bodies on the dance floor.
