Humberto Polar, one half of techno act Monopolar, first started Pantamuzik in Bogota way back in 1999. These days he resides in Mexico City, rapidly becoming the go to destination in North America for artists looking to make a living without having to move to Berlin or London.

The label is now a partnership between the veteran Polar and rising star Razz - a skateboarder and gifted DJ hailing from the streets of Buenos Aires. Together the two are creating quite a stir with a catalog of new music that is capturing the attention of many DJs hungry for new sounds.

With help from other well-respected artists such as Signal Deluxe, Miguel Toro, and Julian Brody the label's primary objective has been to inject a uniquely Latin American element into the rigid formulas of dance floor techno - everyone from Jorge Ben to Frida Kahlo seems to be referenced in the label's unique brand of music.

The sound can best be described as a mix of traditional Latin music forms such as cumbia mixed with driving electronic beats without sounding like some zombie hybrid of the two like electro-cumbia or tropical - the combination here seems natural and organic and could very well be one of the most exciting things going on at the moment.
