This year the spectacular spectacle that is the Amsterdam Dance Event celebrates its 15^th anniversary. That's a decade-and-a-half of turning the Netherland's coolest city into the world's most densely populated dance village, alive with hundreds of delegates and artists, and tens of thousands of fans.

To turn up the proverbial sound for the big fifteenth, the ADE announces its first set of confirmed artists - and it is every bit as eclectic and exciting as you'd expect.

Leading the electronic charge is UK dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man, aka Benga, Skream and Artwork, who - by the time ADE lands - are bound to be the biggest electronic crossover act in Europe (if you don't believe us check out explosive neo-rave anthem I Need Air  - a record custom-built to tear the roof off a Dutch warehouse).

The young guns will be rubbing shoulders with the men who created the musical universe as we know it; men like Detroit godfathers Juan Atkins and Jeff Mills, and house legends Sasha and Danny Howells. In between the music choice runs a full from local heroes like Armin, Shinedoe, Michel de Hey and Chuckie to international trendsetters like Dennis Ferrer, Ellen Allien, Boys Noize and Jesse Rose. Notably, ADE has grown over the years to embrace a full range of the music of electronic culture, that is to say, there is more on offer than just DJs.

Two confirmed live acts speak to the variety and diversity of dance music: Milkshake-singing hip hop and R&B superstar Kelis is booked to perform, as is New York nu-disco outfit Hercules & Love Affair. These bands represent very different elements of club culture, offering a new perspective on the underground roots of house music.

Given that this is the preliminary list of confirmations our collective head is already spinning at the prospect of what else lies in store. Once again, it looks like being a sleepless weekend in Amsterdam!
