With releases on labels such as SCI+TEC and Octopus behind him, Berlin producer Sebrok is a man slowly making a name for himself as a producer of some finely crafted techno. Alongside Tassillo, he also performs and produces as Pan-Pot, a duo with which he's also had mighty success on Anja Schneider's Mobilee.

Sebrok's latest EP on Ideal Audio , entitled 'Out in Miami' is a homage to one of his favorite cities, whereby he once again enhances his burgeoning reputation.

'Lincoln Road' kicks off matters, whereby a grinding, groveling sound makes for an eerie techno bomb. With a big room dark sound akin to techno anthems such as Radio Slave's 'Grindhouse' and Daniele Papini's 'Church of Nonsense', it captivates the listener on a dark, bubbling journey throughout.

Despite never quite hitting the same highs as the latter mentioned tracks, a remix with a more defined and delivering baseline is sure to crop up soon. Room for improvement, but a worthy Dj tool for sure.

'Jefferson Ave' on the other hand, is an even more twisted take on Sebrok's usual techno sound. Featuring a host of bells and cleverly constructed synths, it's the kind of techno that is perfectly suited to early morning sessions.

Quite how this EP is in any way associated with Miami I'm unsure, yet Sebrok's latest is a pleasure to behold, and a must for contemporary techno enthusiasts.
