The immense week of one of the best music festivals in Europe is nearly upon us and as always, the amount of parties with stellar line up's at Sonar and Sonar-Off is abundant. Maybe even too abundant to the point of becoming downright confusing and hard to pick between. Sonar by day, Sonar by night, Sonar-Off parties on rooftops, in hotels, on beaches, on boats, free parties, expensive parties, invite only parties, no doubt many after parties etc.etc. Couple this with a severe lack in sense of direction and sleep deprivation more than likely on the cards, it's a little intimidating. There's a colossal amount of high quality electronic music on display but these are the special events you shouldn't be missing out on! Piece of advice - Print this page

Why? A taste of why the underground night has been one of the most recognised events to have come out of London in the last 12 months. The usually guest list only event has been working its way through East London's warehouses, basements, artist units and loft spaces with a pristine and cultured list of guests including Sammy Dee, Thomas Brinkmann, Crowdpleaser, Public Lover and Move D amongst others. Opening their usually private doors for this occasion, the team welcome jozif and Jay Haze alongside residents Voigtmann and Jan Krueger. Their collaboration with Save The Day at Sonar 2010 was one of the most talked about events of the week and this year they are presenting The Revenge, Richie Ahmed and Robert James to play alongside them at the beautiful Ghoa Beach Club venue. An apparently, "High End" barbecue will be served, and the entry fee includes one glass of beer or cava. All about quality from beginning to end in their choice of venue, line up and concept; I for one, wouldn't miss this for the world. The Teatre Grec is set in the Montjuic Hill in Barcelona and was built in 1929 by a Catalan architect. A colossal stone circular that's open to the skies, it's built in the style of an ancient Greek theatre and is a sight to see in itself even without the performance. Sónar and the Grec Festival collaborated for the first time last year and are working together again this year, presenting the collaboration between Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
