air london presents A Day In The Air, Sunday 27th NovemberIs London the globe’s most thriving contemporary techno community? The capital’s consistent array of impressive line-ups would certainly suggest so, with many even suggesting it’s now overtaken Berlin as the epicentre of the house-music world. Speculation aside, the major players continue to boast an impressive consistency when it comes to parties and venues, yet new promoters and new dancing spots are also cropping up at a rate that laughs in the face of the global financial crisis.

If ever further proof was needed that people are still going out clubbing - and indeed spending - it’s the thriving all day Sunday sessions that have recently relegated the “day of rest” to, well, anything but. So strong are the line-ups that promoters such as Fuse and secretsundaze now regularly give Saturday nights a run for their money, sometimes vying for the same punters but often also catering to the carry-n crowd.

The latest venue to cash-in on this “relatively” new found phenomenon is the appropriately titled Village Underground, who have the Air London crew showcasing their talents on the 27th November.

Regulars in Fabric’s notorious Room 3, the fledging promoters descend on Shoreditch with a veritable array of talent representing. “A Day in the Air” will feature sets from a fantastically assembled list of house talents, spearheaded by Cécille boss Nick Curly but also encompassing Luca C and Pezzner, while home-grown talents include Simon Baker, Matt Tolfrey and Visionquest’s latest signing, Laura Jones. What’s more, we’re also being promised a number of special guests, but Air – ever the innovators – have tactically left their identities under wraps. With so much talent already on offer though, we’re quite sure the mystery Dj will make for another shrewd addition to the party.

The marathon Sunday sessions hark on then, and if you’re barmy enough to withstand its charms (and many of you undoubtedly are), you’re sure to be treated to a multitude of brilliant sounds from some of the scene’s most established, promising and precocious talents. Being air bound has never sounded so tempting: just make you book the Monday off in advance.
