Timo Garcia needs little introduction in the realm of peak-time dance floor music. While his aim generally seems to make 'big' tracks he has a knack for achieving it without resorting to cliched or obvious ideas. His latest effort here is no different but stood out as being a bit different even for him.
'No Shame' is an extremely quirky track which should be the start of a new sub-genre called Jumble House. It's effectively an ethnic drum groove which is funky as hell - using tuned drums as both the rhythm and the melody to give it a bit of the gypsy house thing without going overboard with samples as is usually the norm with that sort of stuff.
It's not all bright either with the track keeping a bit of a dark twist in the way the cut-up vocals are used and the rolling segues.
At the half way point the track changes tack and a ascending key-line is added which spirals from a low to high key over about two minutes, pushing the track from everyday mad to plain insane.
On deck for remix duty is Paul Loraine under his Re-Form guise. His mix takes a more bubbly, understated path, keeping things subtle and easing through the changes.
It still has the wonky appeal of the original but teases you a bit more through the arrangement and washed out break. It's a little less peak-time but no less rocking than the original and a track which has the feel like you wouldn't get sick of it too quickly which is always a good sign.
