Omid 16B needs little introduction having been a purveyor of quality electronic music going back as far as 1993 when he launched his Alola label. It's close to 20 years later he's still at it and showing he's lost none of the passion that has made him one of the most respected names in the house/prog/tech waters.

Following an EP on John Digweed's Bedrock Records last year he's back on the label again with two tech house cuts which do the damage.

"The Night" is the techier of the two tracks, a loopy groove which has the prog hints which Omid is famous for. A grinding baseline, slewing percussion and plenty of drop outs and segues between groove and all out effects-washed madness.

Omid definitely went for the big room moment with this one and he's hit the nail on the head well and truly too.

"Electronics" is altogether more jammy and apparently an exclusive track for Omid's sets for a couple of years now. Without sounding dated at all it's in a similar vein to the releases he put out over that period. It has a slightly wonky vibe and a few quirky diversions off into sparser sections with early 90s Chicago/Detroit style tonky keys.

It's classic Omid 16B and a standout track which will find its home in plenty of sets.
