What’s your present state of mind?
I feel great. Stockholm is full of snow this morning. It looks beautiful from inside looking out.
What would you do if you did not do music?
I just to be a graphic designer until my boss asked me to choose between that and my music. So I quit my job and never looked back!
What's your favourite piece of gear in the studio?
It's my new great looking Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster. It's my 10th electric guitar and it's my darling. But i also love my Synclavier, my old drum machines, my Prophet 5, my pre amps... Well I love all the stuff I collected through the years. Check my FB, if you are curious about my studio secrets.
Where do you see our scene and yourself in 5 years?
My goal is just still being around and hopefully still making house music as a full time job.
What do you do to detox after a hard night out?
I get myself a window seat and sleep all the way back to Stockholm.
Which artist(s) do you respect the most?
I have many heroes but my favorite artist is David Bowie. You can't beat his "Low" album, not in my world. And he just released a new single! And it's great!
The Berlin-hype - deserved or not?
Oh it's definitely well deserved. It's a unique place just bubblin' over with inspiration that spreads all around the world. Sometimes I wished I lived there. But since i have kids, I think it's too late for me.
Did you ever have to make a big sacrifice for the music?
When you are a dj, it's more often the people around you that have to make the sacrifices. Like my wife taking care of my kids alone while I am touring the world. But I wish I had more time seeing my friends during the weekends like "normal people".
What was the last movie or book which impressed you and why?
Yesterday I was watching "Hard Candy" (from 2005) again and it's one of my favorite movies. Ellen Page is so tough and cool she makes Lisbeth Salander looking like a sissy. I'm always reading books and most often music biographies. Just read Julian Cope's "Copendium" and it's good reading if you want to find out more about Alice Coopers early albums or Krautrock classics.
What is your favorite playtime and why?
One thing I love about playing in Berlin is that whenever you finish your set, you can always go somewhere and party for as long as you like. So playtime in Berlin is my answer.
Big rooms or small dancefloors?
Love playing big crowds but playing small rooms are just as cool. When you really connect to the crowd, getting to know each other through out the night and hopefully falling in love with each other in the end of the night.
Are there any things that really catch you these days? (music, movie, clothes, your kid, a new gadget, whatever)
My kids of course. Music will always catch me. I will never get tired of finding great music in any genre. Swedish clothing brands are doing a good job at the moment. Love brands like Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair and The Local Firm.
What’s your no.1 styling advice?
A good hair cut is a start. I could use one now actually!
Which decade had the worst / best music?
There's good music from most decades but what im most happy about is that house music is so heathy right now. There was a time when I did not like what I heard and I lost inspiration. Now so much great stuff is coming out and i just love making house music again.
What are your must-have items when you travel?
I try not to forget to bring aspirin with me incase the night will be long. Feeling bad on planes just sucks, doesn´t it?
The first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
My two year old daughter wants to hold my hand every morning when she wakes up. That's when i wake up too.
