Apollonia’s takeover of DC10 last summer was something of a turning point for the underground Parisian collective. Arguably, one of the best nights of the entire season, their all-night back2back2back session at the club confirmed that their collaborative project was less a DJ gimmick, than one of the most innovative creative partnerships around.
Since that all-night party, things haven’t slowed down for the French trio. They’ve played more gigs together than ever, headlined dance-music festivals across the globe, mixed a critically acclaimed fabric compilation and even released the first batch of their studio work together – the impressive Trinidad / Visa Americain EP.
As such, their return to DC10 on Saturday 24th August 2013 feels more than just a little bit special. Whilst Dan Ghenacia, Shonky and Dyed Soundorom have all made individual appearances across the island this summer, the upcoming all-nighter (the concluding part of DC10’s month of all-night takeovers) is the first extended Apollonia set to take place on the isle this summer.
There are plenty of Ibicenco party promoters who advertise their events as being ‘one-night-only’, but this really is one of the only chances you’ll get to see Apollonia lay it down all night long.
Bringing their respective boxes of vinyl and CDs, the party is set to kick off at 11pm, commencing eight hours of back to back underground house and techno selections from the French threesome. But, as anyone who saw the trio play their extended set at the club last year will know, you can expect the party to continue for far, far longer than that…
