Tribal Sessions @ Sankeys - Friday March 7th - Review
It’s been responsible for some of the finest clubbing moments in the UK’s history dating back more than ten years, and now it is back. Tribal Sessions was one of the first proper promotions to take charge of a range of raves both indoors and outdoors around the UK and is now going to play out at Sankeys on a regular basis.

Leading up the night are club owner Dave Vincent and former VIVa star Darius Syrossian. Together they have schemed during winter and recently unveiled some stunning line-ups as well as a monthly residency out in Ibiza during summer at the sister club.

The club has been touched up recently and the DJ booth in the main room has been lowered to feel more a part of the action. T is a great switch up that makes a big difference and when you couple that with the killer sound system and mesmerising lights, Sankeys is surely one of the best clubs in the country even before the music starts to play.

Up first is someone who is earning his stripes as one of the most assured residents at any major club: Jozef K played a perfect warm up set of supple house that made people dance increasingly more fervently.

Upstairs in the smaller, darker Spektrum the sounds were just as good with another offering of local talent in the form of Daniel Sanders and Keiran Sharples.

Really thought it’s all about headliners The Martinez Brothers - two of the youngest and most exciting DJ and production talents in the game – having worked with the likes of Dennis Ferrer and his Objektivity label, Jerome Sydenham and his legendary Ibadan as well as having done studio collaborations with the likes of Argy, Chris and Steve Jnr are assured modern day house champions.

Their sound is groovy house and tech, whilst their style behind the decks really needs to be seen to be believed. For 2 hours tonight they got at it, dancing about, swapping duties, bouncing about with an untamable energy as the crowd tries to keep up whilst hearing hits like "isssh" "My Rendition" and so many more.  They are a perfectly suited act to start this new era of Tribal Sessions and when people pile out come closing, the sweat on their forehead and smile on their faces suggest Tribal is here to stay.
