Italian duo F.T.G. & Marco Riff might not be a name that you'll instantly recognise, but on the basis of this showing, you can expect to hear a whole lot more from them over the coming months.

Theirs is a rich and nuanced analogue techno sound, the likes of which has vehement roots in Detroit but still retains a mystical and majestic contemporary edge.

Indeed, it's the sort of sound that's not being explored as much as it once was – which is some pity, as it still bags considerable punch.

The bumping bassline and the simmering unrelenting snares dominate proceedings on their latest, with the single-sided vinyl, ''Heaven'' a glorious snapshot into a rich talent that's laden with uncompromising zest.

A track that shakes, shimmies and slides, it makes all the right noises thanks to a brilliant acid line which raises its head around the half-way point.

Sure to be a hit with the likes of Dettman, Klock, Function et al, it features a tough exterior that'll also find favour with the house heads thanks to its melancholic melodies. As epic as it gets in the contemporary domain.
