Muna Musik are back with their 4th release and 4th V/A EP. The small but mighty brand from Thuringa returns with another select roster of A list producers on board.
The EP kicks off with French upstarts and eccentric beatmakers dOP, who bring an atypically left of centre jam on Be The Beat. Slow, deep and bass laced their trademark vocals and phonetic tomes lace the tune.
Following the trio's crazy tones, newcomer and Zurich native Ezikiel steps up with Save The Children, a minimal but bubbling workout track, full of dancing melodic stabs and a tight knit, bit-crushed groove.
Next up, a veteran steps up in the form of shapeshifting producer Timo Maas, coming with the rumbling tones of Heaven is Hell. Uplifting and terrifying in equal measure, its rumbling bass and kick drum drop add a slinky, sexy and deep twist on this dipping and diving 100-and-something BPM track, bringing his years of experience and diverse palette to deliver the stand out track of the latest compilation.
Finally, Romano Alfieri brings Everyone Loves Fonzy, flipping the script of his usual toughened, armoured sound for a more house leaning shimmy. A delicious funk bass sample opens proceedings behind a carnival beat, adding extra layers of percussion and hi hat swing as this stepping, funk laced jam struts its stuff on the dancefloor like a proud mother hen.
