London’s newest venue, The Printworks, is set to open its doors for the first time on February 4th. The venue with a capacity for 5,000 revellers across a 16 acre site is the former Metro printing press. The Printworks is a joint venture between British Land (who are overseeing the general redevelopment of the Canada Water area) and the Vibration Group. Described as an experimental venue by those involved it will play host to “arts, fashion, film, food, immersive theatre, dance and more” across 6 venue spaces.
The music side of the venue is being curated by LWE, the famed London promoter behind Junction 2 festival, Tobacco Docks, Broadwick Live, Festival No 6 and Snowbombing. The winter schedule has already confirmed the likes of ABODE, The Hydra and Maya Jane Coles, alongside other huge dance music names such as Nina Kraviz, Dopplereffekt, Adam Beyer and Luciano.
The first event is utilising what the venue has named The Press Hall and limited to 2,500 tickets. Those lucky enough to have got their hands on one will be treated to a Funktion One sound system, 150 laser lights and a very special b2b2b with 3 Ibiza heavyweights; Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers.
