House producer Lucky Charmz has kicked out some big jams in recent times and is now back with his most meaningful and sensitive EP yet, fresh on the fledgling Moody Records label for their second sizzling release.
Throughout the EP, Charmz really switches up the moods and grooves effortlessly. He starts with a garage influenced sliding and shuffling deep house jam that will pump any floor up. 'Sweepy Hollow' is then a tightly knotted disco number with great riffs, loose claps and funk in the bassline that will get right under your skin. 'Got Away Clean featuring Peach Orbit' then pairs things back with a nice lounge vibe, revealing busted bass and gently tinkling piano keys that skip and float with smooth aplomb.
'Soul Chop' from Wenzel Dashington then has big organs laid over whacked out drums and it sounds perfectly like summer with its big rotating groove and lazy feels. Last of all is 'Deep Dive', which has a big vocal and barely there beats. It’s a late night number, albeit dramatic and soul infused, that closes out this great EP in wonderful fashion.
