Ryan Crosson has long been turning out essential tunes on top labels from Minus to Visionquest. Now he is inaugurating a brand new label called Monologue founded by AltaVoz loudspeaker creator Max D. Blas and producer/Kosmophono label owner Alex Piccini. He serves up two new tunes with a great remix by Guti.
'What State I’m In' features deep house's favourite guest vocalist, Cari Golden. At eight minutes long, the opus is deep and woozy and really worms under your skin. The supple and slick synth, coupled with rubbery drums and elasticated grooves, the percussion is bubbly and the vocals are steamy.
'Dumb Dancing' is Crosson’s other original and is a little more direct, with driving drum - again smooth ones, though - underpinning the whole thing as cosmic sin radiance extends up top in all directions.
It is a heady track to really get floors going in the late night hours. The first original is then remixed by Crosstown Rebels' Guti, who flips it into something turbo charged and deep and driving for the headier, cosier parties out there. All in all, Crosson's latest offering is a great EP, and a great way to start the label in fine style.
