Swedish synth company Elektron have just announced an update of their much loved Analog Rytm. The drum machine was proclaimed as the "ultimate beatbox" on its arrival in 2014 and has been re-upped with a futuristic new design. While the old device's modern approach to analogue beat making made it arguably the best new drum machine out there, its design looked well, let's be blunt, a bit basic.

The Rytm MKII boasts far fresher garms with a state of the art cast aluminium enclosure, a sloped interface, quick performance pads and a crisp OLED screen immediately catching the eye. An eight voice analogue drum machine, it has all new sampling capability, extra outputs for CV and expression connectivity and more buttons to help improve workflow.

The device follows the announcement of MK II versions of the company's Octatrack sampler and Analog Four synthesizer. Elektron fans you have been royally spoilt.
