Elrow is clubbing brain stimulation at its finest. It’s a hot Ibizan Saturday night in July and Amnesia is awash with flamboyant, surreal mayhem and the dancefloor is a constant deluge of bizarre costumes, inflatables, stilted performers, actors dangling from the ceiling and confetti chaos exploding in the break downs.

Following in the footsteps of Ibiza’s iconic night ‘Manumission,’ Elrow is renowned for placing its faithful into an auditorium rather than a dance-floor. Elrow attendees are ambushed by elaborate characters and bewildered by groundbreaking costumes all night long.

Way back in 2012 the then little known night outside of its home in Barcelona, set sail on an Ibiza venture that would revolutionise raving and lead them all the way to a blockbuster slot at the island’s most famous club, Amnesia. Initially transforming the humble ‘Vista Club’ over at Privilege, it was apparent from the outset that the Elrow extravaganza had laid the foundations for a quickly evolving ascent up the island’s list of favourite parties.

Consequently, titanic fiestas were on the horizon and, in 2014, the brand made the switch to Playa d’en Bossa super-club Space. Over the following two seasons it steadily rose to become one of the most fashionable parties on the island.

By the closing party of the 2016 Ibiza season, Elrow needed yet another home for 2017 and Amnesia was just the ticket.

Although club theatrics are its niche, the music plays just as big a part. The sound of Elrow is big and brash tech house. Week Five of Elrow proceedings finds the Amnesia metamorphosing into the ‘Far West’. Mele’s opening track on the terrace, Octave One 'Black Water (String Vocal Mix)' facilitates the euphoric scenes.

Russ Yallop captivates the Terrace with tracks such as Sante Sansone 'Blow Up,' Traumer - 'Cyclo' and Pablo Inzunza 'Duck Stylus.' Next door Eats Everything strings a mammoth eight hour all night long set together in the Main room.

Peter Ellis - In The Night - High Camp Disco Tickler Mix [House Rox Records] from House Rox Records on Vimeo.

To hook a dance-floor from open to close is some task but the West Country superstar is in his element playing a long set for Elrow. The stand out track is the dynamite Peter Ellis ‘In the Night (High Camp Disco Tickler Mix)’.

Elrow’s highly anticipated move to Amnesia has laid down a gauntlet from the outset as Ibiza’s most magical mainstream knees up.

Elrow happens at Amnesia every Saturday from June 3rd to 30th September. To see lineups, click here
