We rewind the podcast clocks to 2009 and capture a young Seth Troxler on the tipping point of hitting the big time.
When DJs break into the big leagues you can usually split their careers into two. After their breakthrough moment, it's all about defending their position and touring, touring, touring. Before the breakthrough moment, however, it's all about hustling.
The year 2009 finds a 24 year old Seth in peak hustle mode. Although the Michigan producer's EP output is heavily hampered by touring these days, back in 2009 he was on fire, releasing EPs on a spread of hyped labels that included Wolf + Lamb, Spectral Sound, Souvenir and Crosstown Rebels and collaborating with Matthew Dear and Tiefschwarz.
'Hurt' had both Seth and a peak of his game Dear on vocals, in an ironic, warped duet that became one of the year's biggest club hits. And with all that going on, he turned in a podcast for Ibiza Voice that became one of our most downloaded mixes of all time. Hustle Seth, hustle!
