You know the drill: pig out at dinner. Feel bad about the extra turkey. Then, the following night, once you are off the family hook, rave it all out. To help you get the most out of your Thanksgiving weekend, we select the five hottest parties across the country...
It doesn’t really matter how much time Josh Wink spends away from the studio, every so often he produces gold, proving quality really does trounce quantity. His DJ sets are similarly renowned for filling club rooms with a special sort of energy so, for us, missing this legend at the intimate TV Lounge alongside Capriati isn’t an option.
And whenever Capriati lines up next to one of his heroes, he always brings an extra ten per cent to his game, so expect a special night at one of Detroit's best loved venues.
Paxahau at TV Lounge, November 25, 2548 Grand River Avenue; Detroit, MI; United States. For more information, click here.
A traditional Droid takeover at the Temp is on the menu for most Californian ravers as they make their way through Thanksgiving proceedings. This year, the techno crew celebrates 15 years of Droid alongside legends DJ Deep and Steve Bicknell. Truncate will also be on the bill alongside midwestern rave stalwart, DJ Hyperactive, who last caught our ears with 2013 bomb ‘Wide Open.’
Droid at Droid Temp, November 24, 11 Where We Say, Los Angeles, CA. For more information click here.
Honey Dijon has been a hot ticket everywhere in 2017. From Boiler Room to Berghain and New York rooftops to more or less every major international festival we can think of, her ability to rock a party anywhere has been generating major heat.
She released her debut album on Classic, in September, and as she subtly blends from house to techno and back again, the inability to place her in a box is her USP.
Kompakt signee and one of Florida's finest, Danny Daze, has been turning heads with his electro experiments recently and joins the bill for what should be an incendiary night at Smartbar.
Honey Dijon & Danny Daze at Smartbar, November 25, 3730 N. Clark St; Chicago, IL 60613; United States. For more information, click here.
Miami has been warming up to the European take on minimal house for a little while now, so who better than hot Romanian duo Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia to shake things up even further with a debut for their SIT project at Space.
SIT classically shine during those marathon European style sets and after parties of a similar ilk, and should be an interesting booking for The Ground, the new venue on the ground floor of Space.
Un_mute at The Ground Miami, November 25, 34 NE 11th ST, Miami, Florida 33132; United States. For more information, click here.
Brooklyn's pride and joy, Output, bags Maya Jane Coles for an interesting head to head with 2016 breakthrough techno star Peggy Gou. The first lady of tech house, and one of the best new, eclectic DJs to grace the scene in recent years, should provide an interesting range of music to shake off those extra Thanksgiving pounds. If you’re in New York, check out our Brooklyn party guide for November, which also includes a killer Nina Kraviz party on the same weekend.
