The tech house duo were everywhere this year and return to Hot Creations for their next release.
If their gig diary is anything to go by, Solardo have been accruing serious air miles this year and their fresh, up tempo take on tech house is being lapped up by clubbers and DJs alike.
Their new rave-esque banger 'Fall Down' has tech house dancefloor bomb written all over it and its acid house rave stabs, pitched down vocal, snare rolls, raw off hats and an undulating sub bass, all pack a punch.
Carlo Lio turns in a pumping remix for the second track in the package. The Canadian producer makes full use of the vocal stutters and loops the rave stab hooks from the original. His mix builds and drop in all the right places, but at points can be a bit too busy in the mix.
MK delivers the final mix of the package and takes care to strip things back from the original and introduce one of his signature, sampler reworks of the vocal. Resampling a track's vocals and playing them on sample pads to create a new hook is a forté of MK’s and he elongates this technique through much of the track to great effect. Although a solid set of remixes, they really aren’t a patch on the original. For maximum dancefloor impact, look up the Solardo lads.
