Lost classics rediscovered by two leading lights of the edit world.
For their next offering, Spacetalk shine a light on a collection of songs from forgotten Californian psyche folk/rock duo Morrison Kincannon.
The release began life after an email conversation between lead song writer from the duo, Norman Kincannon and Pyschemagik’s Danny McLewin, who along with Claremont 56’s Paul Murphy and Simon Purnell of Z Records, make up Spacetalk Records. The exchange, led to the release last year of their much loved 'To See One Eagle Fly.'
It emerged that Norman had a trove of unreleased gems in his possession and the idea then formed to put out the collection as an album for a new audience, which Danny and Paul knew would undoubtedly be of great interest to today’s re-issue and collectors circuit. The result is an exotic blend of sun-soaked Californian gems; songs crafted with heartfelt skill and evoking masters of the era such as Ned Doheny, Joan Baez and Crosby Stills & Nash. In the hands of such esteemed collectors as Danny, Paul and Simon, it’s another essential album born out of their expertise for sourcing rare, specialist music and a chance to enjoy these important lost classics.
