Feelin’ it at Hangar 34.
From Peggy Gou in Southampton and Craig Richards in London to Jane Fitz and Gwenan in Manchester, some of the UK's best selectors go in hard this weekend.
Liverpool welcomes one of this decade's most exciting UK acts, courtesy of the Lovebeat party crew. Three albums into his discography, the Ninja Tune and R&S artist had a relatively quiet year of releases in 2017 with only one EP, 'Exostack' appearing on R&S. That surely means the Belfast producer is hard at work on a follow up, so expect to hear him road test plenty of new material in one of the Baltic Triangle’s best warehouse spaces.
Space Dimension Controller (Three Hour DJ set) at Hangar 34, 34 Greenland St, Liverpool. 19 January. For more information click here.
Peggy Gou’s recent explosion onto the underground music circuit made heads spin across the globe, but not without reason. The Berlin-based Korean producer has more than held her own on each of the labels she has released on and of course, the mega stages she played on last year. Plying her trade in the deeper end of house and techno, over a relatively short amount of time she has accrued an admirable reputation for eclectic selections and masterful DJ skills and takes her talents to one of our favourite regional UK venues for this unmissable night.
Peggy Gou at Junk, 55 London Road, Southampton. 20 January. For more information click here.
Richards and Lutz together in Room 1 is becoming a classic combination for Fabric. The pair go all night long on Saturday night and the party promises to be another one for the books for record sleuths and ravers alike. Scottish techno troubadours Slam take over room two, which will be laced in harder sounds from the Soma pioneers.
Craig Richards & Nicolas Lutz All Night Long at Fabric. 77a Charterhouse St; Clerkenwell London. 20 January. For more information click here.
Jane Fitz has been operating within the murky intersection of obscure house, techno and electronica for two decades and comes to Manchester armed with her usual box of rare vinyl. Hessle Audio’s leading lady Gwenan is also on the bill, so double up the hypnotic beats and find a space on the dance floor for what will undoubtedly be a concentration of other worldly records.
Jane Fitz x Gwenan at Soup Kitchens, 31-33 Spear Street, Manchester. 19 January. For more information click here.
Tech house top boy Patrick Topping helps celebrate the 22nd birthday of Northern Ireland's most infamous clubbing institution. After selling out the club in August last year, and appearing in Mixmag’s and RA’s top ten DJ features of 2017 as well as Ibiza Voice's Tracks of the Year feature, we expect the crowd in Northern Ireland are more than up for a second helping and a three hour set from the Geordie superstar this weekend.
Patrick Topping at Lush, Bushmills Road, Portrush. 20 January. For more information click here.
