Frits Wentink - ‘Two Bar House & Chord Stuff’ Vol2 (Wolf Music)

As one of The Netherlands’ most reliable house music acts - since he emerged in 2012 - Frits has carved out a name for himself, by exploring the world of fuzzy synths and woozy organs. A conscious endeavour to be a little more inventive and off the-wall than your average four to the floor jams.

Taking inspiration from Kerri Chandler and Mood II Swing, these four dusty house cuts are characterised by raw drums, analogue bass tones and curious, lo-fi vibes. They brim with gently wobbling piano keys, tightly swung drums and thick, chest thumping bass lines to re-define genres. The record is a knowing wink to the past, but with its ideas firmly in the future.
