If you had last weekend off the rave in order to stay decent for your mum on Sunday, you are a fine human being. If not, you should be ashamed of yourself. Either way this weekend offers plenty of chance to get back to it/carry on as normal. We’ve got Irish festivals in London, live shows from techno innovators and intimate club shows all covered.

Lena Willikens at Headrow House, Leeds

Having cut her teeth as resident at Salon des Amateurs, word soon got round about Lena Willikens and she broke out onto the wider DJ circuit. Her sound is utterly unique - a weird mix of sludgy acid, post human disco and robot synth tracks that do fantastic things to brain and body. This is all exemplified by the beguiling compilation she has put together for Dekmantel’s Selector series, out next month.

Air London present AIR, 93 Feet East, London

Air London are one of UK house and techno's most established talent agencies and labels. Their AIR parties bring the best of their roster alongside invited guests and tend to be talent-heavy line ups. Case in point is this Saturday's debut bash at Brick Lane's refurbished 93 Feet East, where they invite Paris's legendary Point G, Father and Sons label founder Julian Perez and the superb German, Robert Dietz. Ibiza Voice chart gurus Albion Forever and Chad open things up at 3pm for this Saturday afternoon bash.

Octave One at Small Town Sessions at Gorilla, Manchester

Blackpool’s Small Town Sessions makes the trip to Manchester for the first time and does so with a hefty headline act in the form of Octave One. The Burden brothers have been cooking up blistering techno in their native Detroit for twenty years. Most famously, it is their live show which blows minds: they squeeze all manner of synths and drum machines into the club and work up on the fly version of their biggest hits the leave the club in a spin.

Frankly, it’s one of dance music’s most essential shows.

DJ Sprinkles and Beatrice Dillon at Tesselate, Bloc, London

As we pointed out last week, DJ Sprinkles is one of the best in the game. Not just thoughtful but thought provoking, and also perfectly well informed on the roots of house music, her sets are warm and emotive things that shun flashy tricks in favour of excellent selections. Just as honest and classy is Hessle Audio’s always experimental Beatrice Dillon, making this a heady night from an esteemed pair.
